Ston

Day 10 | $135 per person

cdeff22a170b424ba427b26d00e66bcd

This optional tour begins in the medieval town of Ston, where we’ll visit its ancient salt pans. Then, at the family-owned Vukas winery in the rural village of Ponikve, we’ll enjoy a sampling of the local wines and liqueurs produced here. After that, we’ll make our way to the bay of Mali Ston on the Pelješac peninsula for an oyster experience (weather permitting). Superior quality oysters have been farmed here since Roman times due to the combination of seawater and freshwater in the bay. During our visit, we’ll sail across the bay to learn about oyster cultivation and enjoy samples, along with a traditional stew, buzara, made of fresh mussels prepared for us on a floating wooden dock. Then, we’ll return to our ship.
