Things that Make Grand Circle Unique

Just as we aim to change the lives of our customers, we also try to improve the lives of our associates. We offer a stimulating work environment with opportunities for personal and professional growth, "hands-on" learning and training programs, performance management, a variety of opportunities to give back to the communities, and a strong set of corporate values that include open & courageous communication, risk taking, teamwork, thriving in change, speed, and quality.

Giving Back to our Communities

G40993

Since 1992, our nonprofit Grand Circle Foundation—in partnership with the Alnoba Lewis Family Foundation—has committed over $250 million to educational, cultural, and humanitarian projects around the world and in Boston.

Locally, our associates lead community service events and are given an extra 7.5 hours of paid time off annually to participate in events ranging from blood drives to the Boston Marathon. In the countries our travelers visit, our focus is on providing the schools and villages with access to clean water and toilets; funding schools; and empowering women and Indigenous communities.

Product Training Trips

P13990

Quite simply, there is no better way to learn our business than by going on one of our trips. Product Training Trips allow associates to meet our travelers, have Home-Hosted meals and other intercultural exchanges with the local people, and visit sites supported by Grand Circle Foundation—just as our travelers do. Upon returning, associates are encouraged to provide recommendations for improving our trips.

Why Do We Dangle From Trees?

G40543

We firmly believe that the best way to motivate associates afresh is by getting them out of the office and into a new environment. Offsite meetings are one way that we do that. These meetings are a tremendous opportunity to discuss business improvements, develop leadership skills, and put the company’s values into action. At BusinessWorks, our marquee offsite meeting, associates participate in team-based challenges—including ropes courses—that help them develop our key values of risk taking, teamwork, and open & courageous communication.

Awards for our Associates

Excellence in Service Award

The Excellence in Service Award is presented 8 times per year. This Award is given to associates who exemplify the values and demonstrate great commitment and outstanding performance.

Teamwork Award

The Teamwork Award is presented quarterly to an Associate who best exemplifies the GCC value of Teamwork. This is the Associate who goes above and beyond the call of duty to lend a helping hand to his/her fellow colleagues. This is the team member who is compassionate, who places demands on his/her team to improve, and who is fully accountable for the team’s results.

Honey Streit-Reyes Award

This award honors our own living legend, Honey Streit Reyes, who has worked tirelessly to create unforgettable experiences for our travelers. It is presented to an outstanding regional Associate whose passion and commitment to create unforgettable experiences and learning opportunities has truly helped change the lives of our travelers.

Ted Nathan Memorial Award

The Ted Nathan Memorial Award honors a late Program Director who inspired many of us during the ten years he worked with GCC. It is given once per year, by the Executive Team, to an individual who has been with GCC for at least two years, and whose courage, conviction, and commitment to high ideals exemplify GCC’s values.

The Lewis Moment of Truth Award

Heroes are defined by moments of truth and extraordinary leadership from all levels. They display an unrivalled commitment to help Grand Circle survive during times of crisis. These are the moments of truth that most exemplify Grand Circle’s values.
