  • I heard this trip requires a visa. When and how should I apply?

Unless your trip is leaving within the next three months, it is probably too early to apply. Most countries won’t process your application until you are inside this timeframe, which is why you won’t receive visa materials from us before then. If you are leaving in the next three months, then detailed instructions on how to apply are available in your My Reservations screen—just click the “View Visa Documents” button.

  • I’d like to research my hotels online. When will I have a finalized hotel list?

Your finalized accommodations list will be available in My Reservations about three weeks before your departure. Click the “View Final Documents” button and you will find the hotel list near the end. (You’ll also receive a copy in the mail about two weeks before your departure.) We don’t recommend researching hotels before they are finalized as they can change for reasons outside of our control.

  • How can I view my flights/check a connection time/see my seats?

Once your preliminary air itinerary is available, you can view it through your Air Itinerary screen. In that screen, click on the words “Click here to view your air itinerary”. This will bring you to the Check My Trip website—a partner company that can pull your most up-to-date air itinerary directly from the airlines’ reservations system. Note that you’ll need to sign in twice: Once for My Account, and then a second time for Check My Trip (that way the two sites can work together properly). If you don’t already have a login for Check My Trip, we’ve outlined how to get one in the next question.

  • How do I get a login for Check My Trip?

After you’ve been redirected to the Check My Trip website, you get a login by clicking the words “create an account”. This will direct you to a screen where you can enter your name, email address, and password. (The password is one you create for yourself.) You’ll get a confirmation email from Check My Trip with instructions on how to activate your account. Once that is done, you can login and see your detailed air itinerary.
  • Do I need to call and confirm my flights with you?

No, you don’t need to call us to confirm. If you’re leaving in the next 48 hours you can confirm your flight(s) directly with the airline. (Most will let you do this on their website.) If you’re not leaving in the next 48 hours, then you can confirm your itinerary just be viewing it online—there’s no need to call.

  • Will I always see pre-assigned seats on my flight itinerary? And is that seat assignment guaranteed?

No, seat assignments are at the sole discretion of the airline and are not guaranteed. Many airlines do not allow pre-assigned seating, especially for bulkhead or emergency exit rows. And even if your airline does allow pre-assigned seating, your exact seat is always subject to change by them. In all cases, your best bet is to check-in early (either online or at the airport) to request your preferred seating.
  • How can I confirm or update my required TSA information (passport, emergency contact, etc.)?

You can do this from your Contacts & Passport screen up to 50 days prior to your departure. Here you can enter everything the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) will need, plus your emergency contact and even a nickname. And before you ask: The TSA no longer requires your middle name, even if it appears in your passport.
