I have been with O.A.T. since 2012 and joined the Groups Department in 2015. My passion for Group Travel started with a childhood group trip to New York City to see a Broadway show. Our group totaled over 50 people for that initial trip. After that first trip, my closer family friends decided to plan group trips every summer, knocking off the National Parks out West one by one. I have been able to visit many of the National Parks and even did a houseboat trip down the Erie Canal. I have so many great memories of those group trips with my close family friends, and those memories became the driving factor behind my pursuit of helping other groups experience the world with friends, family members, or with a social club. Amanda Turrell

I have been with Grand Circle and O.A.T. since 2017. I am originally from Boston and currently work out of the local O.A.T. office in Florida. Growing up, I had the privilege of having a French exchange student live with my family, which prompted my love for France and grew my love for travel. The relationship continues to flourish, and I have been to France twice to stay with her and her family. My favorite places I have traveled to are Machu Picchu, Germany, and Venice. In the next three years I hope to visit the Baltic Capitals, the Christmas Markets in Europe, and Chile.

Patrick Phelan

Group Sales Manager – Midwest & Texas

While I’ve been with O.A.T. since October 2011, I’ve been in the travel and leisure industry since 2005. As a first generation American, I’m the only one in my family who was born in the U.S. My mother is from Brittany, France, and my father is from Belfast, Ireland. After meeting in Jersey, a small island in the English Channel, they moved to New Jersey—where I was born. I currently live near the beautiful New England Coastal town of Newburyport, Massachusetts.

Growing up, I traveled extensively in Europe with my parents—especially to France and the British Isles. Since coming to O.A.T., I have been lucky to expand my travels to some new destinations. My first trip was our Real Affordable Peru trip which opened my eyes to South America. As soon as I could, I made sure to travel to Patagonia—my favorite trip so far. I have also been to Iceland and took our Romantic Blue Danube River Cruise. I really want to see as much of the world as possible!

Other than traveling, I have many other passions in life. For example, I enjoy finding new dishes and new unique ways to cook. I even made my own tandoori oven! I also enjoy playing piano, mandolin, and guitar—which is all a work in progress. I am an avid sports fan and, while I’ve played most sports, tennis and skiing are my two favorites.

Brian Canzanello

My passion for travel started with a family trip to Niagara Falls back in elementary school, seeing a natural landmark that truly was larger than life. Since then I have been fascinated with the idea of seeing many of the different sights the world has to offer. While the majority of my travels so far have been domestic, I look forward to soon expand that to include Egypt, Japan, and Italy, with seeing the Great Pyramid of Giza officially topping the list. I’ve been with O.A.T since 2018, and it has truly allowed each day to be a new learning experience in discovering more about the world we live in. Kevin Haas

I started working for Grand Circle and OAT in the Boston office in 2011 answering calls on the reservations line. I first fell in love with travel as a high school exchange student in the foothills of the Dolomite Mountains in Italy, where I lived with a host family for a semester. Since then, I have visited over 40 countries and have worked on organic farms on five continents. One of my biggest adventures was backpacking from Canada to Mexico on the Pacific Crest Trail amidst the Cascade and Sierra Mountains. I first moved to the West Coast and the San Francisco Bay Area in 2005 and now live in Truckee, California.

Chris McCarthy

I have been with Grand Circle and O.A.T. since 2013. I am originally from Boston and currently live and work in Tampa, Florida. My love for international travel began at a young age when I travelled to Italy with my grandparents to visit Salerno, a port city southeast of Naples, which was their hometown and where my mother was born. After studying abroad at the University of Newcastle in Australia, I knew I wanted travel to remain a part of my life. With Grand Circle's strong focus on its mission, vision, values, and environmental consciousness, I knew this organization was the right fit for me and my career. Since I began working with Grand Circle & O.A.T., I have travelled to more than 20 countries. Some of my favorite places to have visited are New Zealand, Botswana, Thailand, and, of course, Italy. In the next few years, I hope to see the pyramids of Egypt, cruise the Adriatic, and visit Mexico to dive with the Whale Sharks! I joined the Groups Department at the start of 2024 after a fulfilling career in the consumer-packaged goods industry. Over the past seven years working with an importer, I became fascinated by the stories behind the brands. I had the privilege of visiting numerous international breweries and distilleries, which opened my eyes to a whole new world of cultures and lifestyles. Along the way, I embarked on several adventures with colleagues and customers, blending professional development with cultural exploration. These experiences ignited my passion for enabling others to enjoy enriching travel experiences that foster meaningful connections and create lasting memories.

Casie Weidinger

I joined the Groups Department in 2024 after six years in the group travel industry. My passion for international travel began as a child, hearing stories of my parents' European adventures and their journeys to the U.S. from the Azores and Germany. My love for travel deepened when I studied abroad in London, where I was captivated by the culture, history, and architecture. Some of my favorite destinations include The Netherlands, France, and England.

I’m excited to be part of an organization that values both travelers and the communities we visit. In the coming years, I hope to explore the Amalfi Coast, see the pyramids in Egypt, and experience the "Big Five" in South Africa. I joined the Groups Department in 2025 after three years in the travel industry, turning my passion for exploration into a fulfilling career. Kasey Black

I have been with O.A.T since 2016 and have worked in many different departments including Air, Sales, Service, and now our Groups team! My love for travel started my senior year of high school when I took a trip to Spain with my foreign language class. It was thrilling to learn the different aspects of Spanish culture, from flamenco dancing to the slower paced lifestyle that they live, and the late evening dinners and all-night festivals. I loved learning about the history of the architecture in Toledo and Cordoba and many other beautiful cities we visited along the way. After that I traveled on a family trip to London, Ireland, Scotland, and Amsterdam to enjoy the countryside views and visit my family’s ancestral ties in Ireland and Scotland. I most recently traveled to Morocco in 2023 on our Morocco Sahara Odyssey adventure. Making lasting memories and building worldwide cultural experiences is something that I now enjoy sharing with my husband and three children.
