It ceratinly appears to still be a lot of unrest. I can't see how anyone could go to the Cairo Museum while there are violent conflicts with the protesters right outside in the square. CNN link below from today with two videos:

We are scheduled for an Egypt tour in April and received the letter from GCT that Egypt tours are being resumed.  Part of the letter from GCT follows,  (A message from Mr. Lewis, Chairman of Grand Circle Travel, saying "We have also met with the Counsel General at the U.S. Embassy in Egypt and advised him of our return," ) , however, I searched  for the response from the US Embassy in Egypt and could find no reply. I am especially interested in the Embassy reply in view of the State Dept travel warning on the State Dept web site which expresses US citizens should not conduct unnecessary travel to Egypt. Maybr GCT could explain the Embassy response and why it differs from the Dept of State travel warning.

After the police rioted and burned the Interior Ministry building in Cairo, my husband and I decided that this is probably not the best time to travel to the Middle East.  This concern was magnifed by all the issues in neighboring countries.  When we called to switch our trip, the situation appeared seamless - all the monies paid towards Egypt would be transferred to a new destination.  However, when we booked the China/Yangtzee River trip for August, the base price quoted was $300 per person higher than that written in the December catalog.  When I questioned the differential, I was told, "A mistake was made in printing that price."  Yikes!  My husband and I have travelled quite extensively, but never with GCT.  This experience does make us particularly eager to encourage anyone else to travel with them.
