Condé Nast Traveler’s 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards names Grand Circle's River Fleet #2 in the World

BOSTON, MA—(October 17, 2011) Grand Circle Travel’s river ship fleet was ranked the #2 “World’s Best River Cruise Line” in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards. This is the seventh year in a row that Grand Circle’s fleet has been rated among the world’s best in the prestigious magazine’s annual survey.

Results of Condé Nast Traveler’s 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards are derived from a survey of the magazine’s subscribers. This year, 28,876 readers responded to the survey, which asked them to rate the world’s best cities, hotels, airlines, cruise lines and more. In the river ship category, readers rated their experiences based on the ships’ activities/facilities, cabins, crew/service, design/layout, food/dining, itineraries/schedule, and shore excursions.

“We thank Condé Nast Traveler and its readers for recognizing our efforts to provide excellent river cruise experiences for our travelers at exceptional value,” said Grand Circle Chairman Alan E. Lewis. “We are proud of our ability to connect our travelers with local people in homes, schools, and communities and to be able to offer our river cruises at the best value in the industry. In fact, if a traveler finds a lower price on any comparable river cruise departure, we will match the price. We are committed to offering travelers the best price in the industry.”

Grand Circle provides river cruise and cruise tours to Americans 50 and older, including throughout Europe, Russia, China and beyond. The company offers pre-and-post trip cruise options with every program in order to extend both value and choice to travelers.
