Arrive this morning or afternoon in Paris. You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
You have the balance of the day to relax after your overseas flight. You might choose to join your Program Director for an orientation walk to get better acquainted with the area around your hotel.
Later, celebrate your arrival in France with a Welcome Drink and briefing. Ask your Program Director for suggestions for dining on your own this evening in the "City of Light."
Savor a day at leisure, and use your included Metro pass to discover what this culture-rich city has to offer. Perhaps you'll trace the city's past at the ornate Renaissance-style Hotel de Ville, built in the 14th century when Paris moved its location from two islands on the Seine to the mainland. Or you might explore the Place des Vosges, the city's oldest square.
This evening, join an optional outing to a lively French cabaret performance and dinner. You'll find out why this kind of theater has been celebrated for so many years—in both France and throughout the world. The price of this tour includes dinner, a cabaret show, and all transportation.
Or, enjoy the evening at leisure and dinner on your own.
Enjoy a full day on your own to explore Paris in depth.
Or, join us for a full-day optional tour to Reims, the unofficial capital of France’s Champagne wine-growing region. Upon arrival in the city, you’ll enjoy a walking tour with your Program Director, viewing many of the highlights the city has to offer. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Notre-Dame de Reims, which was damaged by the Germans during the World War I, but has since been restored. This Cathedral played the same role in France as Westminster Abbey in the United Kingdom. You’ll end your day at a Champagne cellar, where you’ll sample some of the bubbly beverage, before returning to your Paris hotel.
Tonight, enjoy dinner on your own in one of Paris' many fine restaurants.
After breakfast, transfer to your river ship to begin your Seine: Paris to Normandy River Cruise.
