A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:
In this episode of Humanity for iPad, we follow a Reykjavik diving guide named David to a location right near Thingvellir. In great detail, David takes us to the otherworldly underwater landscape of Silfra, located right on the North Atlantic ridge, separating the Eurasian and North American continental plates. Silfra is the exact site where I snorkeled recently with Alan Lewis and yes, the experience is quintessential Iceland: a connection to earthly forces much larger than yourself, within a culture that thrives on adventurous immersion. You jump off the edge of a lava field. You plunge into the surreal blue water. Breathtaking!
