A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:
The town of Tromsø in Northern Norway lies almost 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Winters come with extreme darkness, frigid temperatures, and heavy snowfall. This poetic short film takes us through Tromsø’s winter environment through the eyes of a Norwegian woman who loves her home in all its harshness. We travel by dogsled through the diverse landscape of mountains, forests, and fjords. We see the otherworldly glow of the northern lights and the last vivid sunset before the polar night. In Tromsø, the sun stays below the horizon from November 21st to January 21st. For people here, the power of nature and our lack of control is a beautiful thing.
