A note from our curator, independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:
Did you know that Czechs drink more beer per capita than any other nation? This episode of BBC’s Thirsty Explorer reveals this and other little-known facts about the birthplace of the first light lager—the Pilsner. I find it telling that despite the changing landscape of the drinking culture in Prague and its newfound appreciation for international beers, the Pilsner remains king. One brewer describes the giddy appeal of this national treasure: “Each sip invites you to keep drinking.” Cheers to that!
