A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:
Chef and food critic Marut Sikka says there’s no place in the world like Old Delhi. With spice markets lining the streets as far as the eye can see (or the nose can smell), he is certainly right. Marut brings viewers to the Khari Baoli spice market to showcase some of his favorite spices, explaining that real Indian food is an intricate combination of many of them. He also insists that the best food in Delhi is the street food, but is explicit to warn people to stick to cooked food. I’ve got my eye on the parathas, those tasty looking deep fried breads!
