My City: Barcelona

Posted on 7/18/2017 12:00:00 AM in What We’re Watching

A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:

BBC’s My City series is superbly shot so I get lost in the aesthetics of each episode. The award-winning show’s presenters also do a great job of balancing candor, introspection, pride, and optimism for their cities. In this episode, we are in cosmopolitan Barcelona, a city known for its stand-out architectural heritage. We visit La Escocesa, a former industrial factory complex-turned artist space, as well as the Museu D’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA). Presenter Jaime Gonzalez describes Barcelona best: “What really lies behind the beautiful facade of my city is its constant search for change and for its next big transformation.”
