For many veterans who have served overseas, reentering civilian life can be incredibly difficult. That’s why each year, Grand Circle Foundation organizes several community service events to help ease the transition for veterans living in Boston. Associates from our Boston headquarters donate enough furniture and household supplies to make an empty apartment feel like a home. Then, a team of volunteers loads up the van on moving day and readies the space for a formerly homeless veteran. This is the story of one veteran who we recently welcomed home.
A note from filmmaker David Conover, who produced this video:
“Those who serve in the American military—and their families—make sacrifices for all of us. This film captures the experience of one such service member in one such family. When we hear Sean tell his story here, he is at a vulnerable crossroad in his life, a couple of years after returning from overseas duty in Afghanistan. For all the men who served overseas, for Sean, we offer our profound thanks. Welcome home!”
