Eco Trekking: The Pacific Islands

Posted on 3/10/2020 12:00:00 AM in What We're Watching

A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:

The Pacific Ocean covers one-third of the globe. From the perspective of a potential traveler, that’s a lot of possibilities. Eco Trekking: The Pacific Islands is a beautifully shot 25-minute film from our colleagues at Pilot Productions in the UK, producers of the popular GLOBETREKKER series on PBS. It features four guides known to you if you watch the series: Christina LaMonica, Justine Shapiro, Ian Wright, and my favorite (and friend) Megan McCormick. Their advice ranges from hiring local guides for walks on deserted beaches in Hawaii to avoiding hard kicks when swimming among thousands of non-stinging jellyfish in the Federated States of Micronesia. Eco Trekking walks you amongst the famous Moai statues of Easter Island and through the beaches of marine iguanas in the Galapagos. All with a mindfully tolerable impact on the land or the people. An excellent guide that I recommend highly! Now when are those electric planes coming to pick us up?
