Earth Diaries: Jokhang Temple

Posted on 7/25/2017 12:00:00 AM in What We’re Watching

A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:

This episode of Earth Diaries takes us to Jokhang Temple in Tibet’s capital city of Lhasa. I love learning about the different forms of Buddhist practice practiced in the temple—meditation, prayer wheels, bowing. Each serves to bring us closer to enlightenment. What dedication and discipline! The American Buddhist scholar and writer Robert Thurman explains that the heart of Buddhism is not about believing in Buddha, but about understanding yourself and the world within your own mind.

Produced by Cynthia Younker
