Bare Feet: Waltzing in Vienna

Posted on 7/25/2017 12:00:00 AM in What We’re Watching

A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:

Bare Feet host Mickela Mallozzi travels to Austria just in time for the Elmayer Ball in Vienna’s imperial Hofburg Palace. We follow Mickela as she trains and prepares for her grand debut in Vienna, but I quite enjoy her stop in Vorau, prior to the big event. Vorau is only 90 minutes south of Vienna, but it’s a different world entirely. In Vorau, she learns the Schuhplattler, a traditional folk dance that involves a lot of knee slapping, leaping, stomping, and cow bells. More cow bells, Mickela!
