A note from independent filmmaker David Conover on why he chose this film:
London cab driver Al Fresco proclaims that “London was founded on the River Thames, and without the River Thames there would be no London.” It was the Romans who wisely chose this spot for their settlement, Londinium, in 50 AD. Just east of Battersea Park along the south shore of the Thames lies New Covent Garden Market, where you can find the freshest vegetables in the city. Chef Tom Aikens explains that this market is able to distribute to a variety of restaurants, nurturing diverse cuisines throughout the city. About three miles due north of the market—on the north side of the river—lies the London Coliseum, where one can indulge theatre and dance. Wonders abound along the Thames!
