Fleet receives highest overall score (95.2) of any cruise line
BOSTON—(December 20, 2013)—Vince Cook, CEO of Grand Circle Corporation, is pleased to announce that Grand Circle Cruise Line has been named to Condé Nast Traveler’s annual Gold List of “World’s Best River Cruise Lines”—and to its Platinum Circle of repeat winners. Grand Circle Cruise Line’s overall score of 95.2 was the highest in any cruise line category.
“We are delighted to be recognized by Condé Nast Traveler readers for our efforts to create culturally rich and affordable itineraries,” said Cook. “We are greatly inspired to continue our efforts to offer travelers excellent value, with per diems that are $50-$500 less than other river cruise lines’, and itineraries that get travelers off our ships and into local homes, neighborhoods, and communities.”
Established in 1998 with a single river ship, Grand Circle Cruise Line’s fleet is today comprised of more than 50 river and small ships, including 14 privately owned river ships, three 50-passenger ships, and exclusive charters. With passenger capacities of 24 to 250 travelers, the fleet offers 23 river and small ship cruises vacations throughout Europe, Asia, South America, and Antarctica. In 2013, 27% (or about 10,800) of Grand Circle Cruise Line’s 40,000 passengers booked as solo travelers—up from 25% the prior year, prompting Grand Circle to increase its solo cabin allotment by nearly 1,200 in 2014.
