Get to know Katia:
Despite the problems that young people face in Greece—as they do all over Europe nowadays—for me, growing up in Greece was like growing up in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. As a child, I traveled a lot with my mother, who led tours all around Greece, and everything was magical to my eyes … the ancients ruins, the myths, the people, the action. Later, while I was studying for my BA from the University of Athens in Classics and Education, I decided that I wanted to share with other people all of the beautiful things I was learning about my country's civilization. So, after graduating from Thessaloniki University with a master’s degree in the Philosophy of Art, I followed in the footsteps of my mother and started leading tours in Greece. It was soon after that I had the opportunity to work for Grand Circle Cruise Line.
During my free time, I like to see friends, go to the theater, and attend musical concerts. I take ballet and modern dance classes several times a week, which I’ve done since I was a kid, and one of my favorite things to do when I’m not working is stay home and take care of my puppy. I also enjoy hiking and trekking with friends, and I love to travel abroad, to meet new people and learn about their cultures. So far I’ve visited England, France, Germany, Italy, Egypt, and Turkey. I would love to visit Africa and go on a safari, and I’d like to visit the United States (where my father is from) someday, too.
