Get to know Juan:
When I was born, Spain was changing a lot during those years, so I had the opportunity to see and live through all of these changes from a dictatorship to a democracy … a new king … and economic development. I had a wonderful childhood thanks to my family.
My father was a bus driver, and I used to travel with him a lot when I was on holiday. He used to work with Grand Circle, and I was only 11 when I first traveled on a tour with Grand Circle. I liked Americans very much. They were kind with me, and I found them to be funny and friendly people. Because I was traveling so much with my father, I started to like the tour guide job, so I decided to study tourism in school and get my degree and guide license. I love to travel and know places where many tourists usually do not go, so I share my experiences with them. I also love history, and even though many people think that it is a boring subject, I think that it depends on the way you explain it.
Spain is an old country, and we have a very special culture, which is a blend of all of the civilizations that have passed by our territory during the centuries. I like to discuss the most important moments of our history, like the discovery and colonization of America, the Spanish Inquisition, Spanish monarchies, and the Spanish Civil War. Also, it’s very important that our travelers get information about the present times, like our politics, religion, and economy.
