We are contemplating taking the Highlights of South Africa Trip in 2011.  Our only concern is the group size - 40 people.  I understand GCT has been running this trip with smaller groups, but if anyone has been on this trip in a large group trip, we'd like to hear feedback!

We like the itinerary, the rave reviews from everyone but would appreciate information on whether all 40 people are on one bus, how crowded this is, time spent in the logistics of 'herding' this many travellers, etc.

This is admittedly a problem of ours and forewarned can propare one!

Have you been on the Safari Serengetti tour yet?  It's OAT and there wil be no more than 16 travellers.  A wonderful trip!

The OAT Africa trips all look wonderful, but for our first trip to Africa, other than Morocco and Egypt, we would like to start with South Africa and especially the Victoria Falls extension.  That gives us the time we want to be able to go bungee jumping there.  Can you think of a better way to celebrate a 70th birthday???

We have taken a total of 8 tours with GCT and OAT.

We compared both the Grand Circle (GCT) and the Overseas Adventure (OAT) tours to South Africa.  The overriding factor for us was that we were told that the game park viewing on the GCT tour was on the tour bus, while the OAT game viewing was in safari vehicles.  We decided on the OAT tour so that we could have the full experience in the safari vehicles.  Our tour was fabulous.  We had 15 people in our group, and it was a wonderful experience.  We strongly recommend the OAT tour for South Africa.

If you have any questions or want more information about the OAT tour, you can email me at GoneTravelin2@aol.com.
