I am booked on this for June 2014-and wondering if any past passengers would have input regarding the pros and cons of booking a cabin in the A category on the top (boat) deck vs. the E category on the main deck? thanks!

I was on the Rossia in 2010.  They are sister ships.  The E cabins are on the lowest passenger deck, which also contains Reception, the library, and the gift shop, and the F cabins.  There is a small bar/lounge on the deck with the A and B cabins.  The cabins themselves, as far as I know, all have the same plan, which you can see when you look at them under Accomodations.  They're all fairly small except for the two just outside the restaurant, but they seem adequate.  Since I was traveling solo and had a C cabin, I'm not a good judge of how it was for two people.  But nobody complained.

Our cabin on the Tikhi Don was directly across from the reception. I liked the location, but all the cabins on that deck are smaller than the upper decks. Our beds were pushed together to make a queen, but left only inches of space on either side. I would suggest going for an upper deck.
