I got a rather "strange" phone call this morning from the air department at GC. He said that he was confirming my transfers from the airport in Budapest to riverboat and then from Warsaw to the airport on the day of my departure. I told him that I had traveled with GC/OAT many times and that I had always assumed/known that I would be picked up/delivered as part of the trip and had never gotten a confirmation about that before. He was a bit puzzled also, but just said he had gotten a notification to let me know. Has anyone else ever gotten a phone call like that?

Since nobody has replied, Nancy, I thought I'd relate my story from a few months ago.

Someone called from the travel department and asked if I would like to upgrade to Premium Economy on my July trip (Paris to Honfleur), since I had upgraded on the UK trip the year before which I had to cancel.  I replied that I would and asked what the cost would be.  He checked and came back very apologetic and said that that flight didn't have Premium Economy.  He didn't think there was another flight I could take.

So I let it go until recently and then decided to see what was available.  I called the travel department again and this time got someone who said "sure, no trouble."  So I am now on Premium Economy, leaving Boston later in the evening and arriving in Paris late morning.  That's better than the first flight which would have got me in around 6:30 and, probably, to the ship long before they were ready to accept passengers.  Coming home, my flight is scheduled to leave CDG a little after 7 pm and we have to be out of our rooms by noon.  Not enough time to go into Paris and see anything, so I'll just hang around at the airport.  Whatever time I leave from anywhere on my return trip, I always get into Boston at the rush hour!
