On the Rhine and Mosel River pre-trip to Bruges, do you visit Brussels or just drive from the airport to Bruges?

Thanks.

When we took this trip in 2005 we ended the river portion in Antwerp and bused from the ship to Bruges.  When leaving Bruges to fly home we bused straight from Bruges to the airport in Brussels.  That is the only portion of Brussels we saw.

If you look on the website you can see the details for the Bruges extension. The Bruges pre or post-trip for the "Romance of the Rhine and Mosel" goes not include Brussels whereas the Bruges pre or post-trip for the "Great Rivers of Europe" has an optional tour to Brussels. If you want to visit Brussels while in Bruges, ask your program director about this. We took the Bruges pre-trip on our  "Holland and Belgium in Springtime" cruise in 2011.  At our first meeting, Lieven, our program director, asked if anyone wanted to visit Brussels.  He said it was very easy to do by train, and he would help with the arrangements. I don't know if anyone went, but I suggest you ask your program director about this. Except for a morning tour, most of your time in Bruges is free time. We took the offered optionals, as well as explored on our own. You could probably use one day to go to Brussels.  Have a nice trip. We are doing the "Romance of the Rhine and Mosel" in September with the Lucerne pre-trip.
