Hi,

Does anyone know if the standard "ear buds" bought in the US will work with the transmitters used by the Program Directors during the tours? (can't stand the ones that are supplied)

Thanks, Dave L

They should.  I've seen people with their own.  But I don't know if they were buds.  I can't use buds, because I wear hearing aids.  But check with GCT if you can find someone who knows.

Ear buds should work as long as your unit's plug (i.e. jack) fits into  (i.e. is the same size as) the receiver that they give you. The size that my receiver used on a GCT river cruise (2 years ago) was 2.5 mm which is the size used by most airlines. However, I guess they could be using a 3.5 mm jack headsets on some other trips/cruises too. Ear buds do come in both sizes and cheap adapters are available. See example:

Convert a 3.5mm headset to a 2.5mm headset
