I am trying to find out how many hours you are on the bus each day.  I have a bad back - consequently sitting for long periods of time is a problem.  The reviews I have read say the bus travel is tedious.  Any specific information would be very much appreciated.

We took this tour last year. As I recall there were five days (maybe six) on which we spent in excess of five hours on the bus. But the average of all the other days was probably about four hours per day on the bus. So, yes, I would call the tour "bus intensive". The bus we had was quite comfortable and rest stops were frequent and typically interesting. On average the rest stops happened about every hour and a half and each stop was about half an hour. Others may have a better memory for details, but that's the way I recall it.

We did this trip in 2008 - in fact it was our first Grand Circle trip - and I recall that the first day was very bus-intensive. We crossed the state of Washington and spent a lot of time driving. But, as Captain Larry said, there were frequent stops with plenty of time to stretch and walk around. This was a wonderful trip, one I would love to take again some day.
