The Los Angeles Times today printed 2 letters praising Grand Circle for their wonderful, considerate handling of travelers who couldn't get home as scheduled because of eruption interruptions.  Certainly reaffirmed our faith in Grand Circle.  Hope those letters will lead to more people choosing GC for European trips.

We were scheduled to fly home from Zurich to Washington Dulles on May 19, 2010, using British Airways, changing planes in London. The last couple of days in Lucerne our Program Directors were in constant contact with the GCT airline scheduling office to see what could be done to get around the volcanic ash problem as well as the threatened strike by BA cabin crews. GCT tired of the uncertainty and "bit the bullet" by changing our reservations to Lufthansa with connection in Frankfort. As it turned out BA flew as scheduled, but the tourists were very releived and appreciative of the efforts made by GCT. There was undoubtedly a loss of money involved with the last minute cancellation of the "non-refundable" tickets and the last minute reservations on the new airline. GCT's customer service was exceptional, but really what we have come to expect on our seven GCT tours we have taken.
