Does anyone know if there is a school visit included on the Egypt tour/cruise?  I would love to see an example of their education system!

I recently got back from the OAT's Cairo and The Eternal Nile River trip (13 Jun - 2 Jul). The tour guide said that we won't be visiting a school since none were currently in session. I guess it was their summer break.  She mentioned that if anyone brought school supplies they could give them to her, and she would make sure that they got to the school. Apparently, if you go on this trip when the schools are in session you visit a school; if they aren't in session, you don't.

We are going on the Nov 13th trip to Egypt. There is a school visit scheduled on day 9 in Quena/Luxor.

We attended a school visit last year in Budapest. It was really nice. A teacher and an administrator gave short talks and fielded questions. Then some students came and sang some songs for us. It was really sweet. The event ended with the students passing out hand made cards welcoming us to Budapest and wishing us a happy trip.
