I really enjoyed reading "I'm not an Alcoholic, I'm just European!: Living in Spain Adventuring through Europe."  on my Kindle.

The book is about a GenX guy who believes that he will never need to leave home because he can experience the world through the internet and his big screen TV.   After his first wife, who thinks the same as he, dies from cancer he meets an old friend from high school who is living in Madrid, Spain and falls in love.  Despite his views on traveling and fear of flying, he end up moving to Madrid and discovers that the world seen through a big screen TV is not the same as being there and experiencing the people, culture, food, and wine.

This isn't about reading, but the book's theme of really seeing the places versus just watching them on TV made me think of a comment from a friend after I had been on OAT's Ultimate Africa trip and had seen so many animals (lions, zebras, giraffes, etc.) in the wild. He asked me if it was really any different from seeing them in the zoo or on Animal Planet!! OMG. After I stared at him for a few seconds, I asked him if he would rather just see some fabulous dessert pictured on TV or have it right in front of him so he could eat it!
