BOSTON—(July 3, 2013)—Vince Cook, CEO of Grand Circle Cruise Line, today announced that Travel + Leisure readers have rated the fleet as one of the top three (#3) river cruise lines in the 2013 World’s Best Awards survey. Survey results of the 18th annual Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, which uncover readers’ favorite cruise lines, hotels, airlines, cities, islands, tour operators, safari outfitters, car-rental agencies, and more are featured on the Travel + Leisure website now, and in the magazine’s August 2013 issue.
“We are honored to again be included in Travel + Leisure's World’s Best Awards and grateful to our travelers for taking the time to share their impressions of us,” said Cook. “Our vision is to help change people’s lives, which we do through culturally-rich itineraries that take travelers from our ships and into homes, schools, and communities, where they’ll meet locals and get a firsthand look at local life and culture. We are committed to making small ship and river cruising affordable to more Americans by offering the lowest per diems in the industry—plus free or low Single Supplements for solo travelers, who represent one in four of our cruise travelers.”
This is the sixth time that Grand Circle Cruise Line has been included on the list of Top River Cruise Lines. Cruise line rankings in the 2013 Travel + Leisure's World Best Awards are based on readers’ ratings of cruise ships on the following characteristics: cabins, restaurants/food, service, itineraries/destinations, excursions/activities, and value.
Established in 1998, Grand Circle Cruise Line offers more than a dozen River Cruises and Cruise Tours along Europe’s Rhine, Main, Danube, Seine, Rhone, Elbe, Mosel Rivers; a Russia River Cruise from Moscow to St. Petersburg; and several Small Ship Cruise Tours in the Mediterranean and Adriatic seas, Burma, the Panama Canal, and Antarctica. More than 120,000 Americans have taken the classic Great Rivers of Europe River Cruise, Grand Circle’s most popular river vacation, in the past 15 years.
