Grand Circle Foundation
"I have always been proud of American generosity, and I am proud that Grand Circle Foundation represents our tradition of caring. By giving now, we encourage future generations to also give, making this grand global village a better place."
— Harriet Lewis, Chair, Grand Circle Foundation
Giving Back to the World We Travel
Grand Circle has a long history of giving back to the people and places we visit. In 1992, Grand Circle Foundation was founded to formalize the process of giving. Through the Foundation, we help communities around the globe as they strengthen their schools and prepare teachers to educate the next generation of world citizens. We help to preserve cultural treasures and traditions through support for such organizations as World Monuments Fund and UNESCO.
World Classroom
At the start of 2005, the Foundation announced its most ambitious program to date, the World Classroom. Our vision for this broad-based initiative is to invest, over five years, $10 million in programs that foster the education of young people and support the communities where they live. Presently, we are working with nearly 80 schools around the world. Because education is a way up, we believe this is the best way we can provide choices for young people.
Drawing on the longstanding relationships the Foundation has already formed especially with our Honorary Directors and Community Advisory Group — the World Classroom will benefit from the diverse talents of dedicated teachers, trainers, activists, students, volunteers, associates, community leaders, and others.
To date, Grand Circle Foundation has provided support to schools around the world in locations including Africa, Asia, the South Pacific, Europe, and the Americas.
