Our River Cruise & Small Ships are Tops!
Grand Circle’s M/S Provence and M/V Arethusa were each ranked #1 in their respective categories in Condé Nast Traveler’s “Top 100 Cruise Ships in the World” 2013 Readers’ Poll. In addition, 12 of our privately owned vessels were among the “Top 40 River Cruise Ships,” and 2 more of our vessels were ranked among the “Top 20 Small Cruise Ships,” for a total of 14 ships on the list—more than any other cruise line!

Small Ship Cruises designed with you in mind
When Grand Circle Cruise Line decided to build our own line of small ships, we polled our travelers to learn what specifications and amenities they desired on a cruise vacation. We took these suggestions and incorporated them into the design of our ships, which launched between 1999 and 2007. As the worldwide leader in small ship and river cruising, our fleet caters exclusively to American travelers.
Relax in your outside cabin
Because all of our cabins line the outside wall of the ship, you’ll always have views of the passing scenery. Most cabins are 150-215 square feet in area (cabins aboard the M/S River Allegro are approximately 120 square feet) and include twin beds. On our European river ships, our staff converts them into daytime couches. Each cabin also offers closet and storage space, a desk with vanity mirror, a private bath with shower, a direct-dial telephone, and a flat-screen TV. Certain cabins also feature balconies.
Casual style in an intimate setting
After a day of exploring charming ports, medieval castles, or ancient ruins, you’ll appreciate the relaxed camaraderie of your private small ship. Sit back and enjoy an aperitif in the bar and lounge. Join friends on the panoramic Sun Deck to watch a sunset. Your English-speaking staff wants you to have an unforgettable experience, and will do whatever they can to see that you do!
Travel safe, sound, and carefree
Technology has helped to make the world’s waterways safer and easier to navigate than ever. Our shipboard radar ensures careful navigation at night and in low visibility. For example, you’ll enjoy a landmark transit of the canal that links the Main and Danube rivers—an engineering feat completed in 1992.
