Sailing into a new year with a new honor

The year is still fresh and already we’re enjoying reminders here that our hard work is valued by travelers like you. Just a month into 2014, Condé Nast Traveler unveiled its annual “Top 100 Cruise Ships in the World” listing, and all 15 of our own River Ships and Small Ships made the list.

In the Small Ship category, two of our 50-passengers ships not only made the list topped it, with the M/V Artemis and the M/V Arethusa claiming the #1 and #2 slots. And 13 of our vessels river made the Top 40 River-Cruise Ships charts, with our M/S Provence and M/S River Allegro each in the Top 3. (Our 50-passenger M/V Athena is listed in this category as well, though we consider it a Small Ship.) With Condé Nast Traveler readers ranking the best from among 39,000 sailings that took place in 2013, it’s rewarding to know that every single Grand Circle-owned vessel was recognized.

With so many sailing options, it’s a testament to the hard work of our excellent nautical and hospitality crews, and the dedicated Program Directors who consistently create a welcoming, caring atmosphere and rich learning experiences for our travelers. Yes, our ships are comfortable and well-appointed, but it isn’t fancy bells and whistles that travelers are praising when they cast their votes in this poll—it’s the uniquely meaningful experience our cruises offer. That includes local homes, markets, and communities in every port, in addition to on our ships.

We’re grateful for the honor and eager to keep delighting all the travelers who step aboard with Grand Circle Cruise Line. As 2014 gets under way, it’s full-steam-ahead for a year of new Small Ship and River Cruise discoveries. To read more about this honor and check out our award-winning fleet, click here.
