Day 2
Paris

Arrive this morning or afternoon in Paris. You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Paris. You have the rest of the day to relax or explore a little of the city on your own. If you wish, you can join a brief guided walk with your Program Director in the vicinity of your hotel to begin getting to know the city.

Enjoy a drink with your Program Director and traveling companions at thisevening's Welcome Reception.

Your evening is at leisure. Ask your Program Director for suggestions on where to dine on your own.

Day 3
Paris/Optional Moulin Rouge Cabaret Show & Dinner

After breakfast, enjoy a half-day tour of Le Marais—literally, "the marsh"—a beautiful district of Paris that's home to many historic mansions dating back to the 16th century. The Knights Templar cleared this marshy land just north of the Seine in the twelfth century, and many French aristocrats built vast and beautiful residences that still stand today. You'll visit the Place des Vosges, the first royal square in France, whose red brick vaulted arcades were commissioned by Henry IV in 1605. You'll also see mansions and hotel particuliers (grand homes surrounded by gardens and courts), as well as the Jewish Quarter.

Your afternoon and evening are at leisure to do as you please. You can return to the hotel with the motorcoach, or remain behind in the city on your own.

Your evening is at leisure, and dinner is on your own.

Or, join us for an optional evening outing to the legendary Moulin Rouge. Paris is famous for its nightlife and especially for its glitzy musical revues. And there is no cabaret more celebrated than the Moulin Rouge, which first opened in 1889. The cost of this optional tour includes a world-class cabaret show and dinner.

Day 4
Paris/Optional Reims & Champagne tour

This morning, join us to begin an optional full-day tour to the Champagne region. You'll have a private transfer from the hotel to Reims via the Marne Valley, the scene of intense World War I battles over 90 years ago. You’ll stop along the way at the American Military Cemetery of the Belleau Wood, which honors the memories of Americans soldiers who lost their lives in those battles. When you arrive in Reims, you'll savor lunch at a local restaurant—a typical French brasserie. You’ll then see Reims’ magnificent cathedral before a special tasting at a well-known vineyard.

Or, the day is yours to visit new museums, relax at sidewalk cafes, peruse bookstores and galleries, and soak in the inimitable atmosphere of Paris. The city is a shopper's paradise, so the opportunities for holiday shopping are unsurpassed. A number of Christmas Markets are set up seasonally, including one at La Cour de Rome in front of Gare St. Lazare.

Day 5
Transfer to the M/S Bizet / Begin Main Trip

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer by motorcoach to your home for seven nights, the M/S Bizet, where you'll meet your fellow travelers and follow the main itinerary from Day 2.
