Grand Circle Foundation supports first-ever SquashBusters team
On March 24, Alan and I welcomed 28 students from Timilty Middle School in Roxbury to Harriet’s Corner in Boston. These students are part of SquashBusters—an after-school urban youth development program that combines squash with academic tutoring and community service—and Grand Circle Foundation’s first-ever team sponsorship.
During their visit, the students had a chance to meet and interact with Grand Circle associates, tour our building, and view a video about Grand Circle Foundation (They were especially intrigued by the lobby of our fifth floor—the finance department—which displays paper money from around the world!) Alan and I also discussed the importance of teamwork and leadership within a team—and learned a bit more about the students’ favorite subjects and love of squash.
It was a wonderful evening—and I’m not the only one who thought so. The Foundation received letters of thanks from the students after visiting Grand Circle. Here are a few of the lovely letters sharing our students’ favorite parts about their visits …
Grand Circle’s Executive Vice President of People & Cultures, Martha Prybylo, learns about the finer points of squash from a few of our SquashBusters students.
Dear Grand Circle Foundation,
Thank you for inviting us to join you in your office. We enjoyed the money on the floor and we enjoyed the Ancient Greece department and we enjoyed the beauty of the fish tank.
Thank you again for donating money to SquashBusters.
Sincerely,
Jorge G., Simone P. & Rosedolphe A.
Dear Grand Circle Foundation,
Thank you for inviting us to your building. We were so amazed at the beautiful decorations on each floor. We enjoyed the presentation and the food. Our favorite part was all the amazing artifacts such as the drums we saw and all the different pictures from around the world. Thank you again for having us and sponsoring our team at SquashBusters.
From,
Alexa H., Miasia K. & Alex D.
Dear Grand Circle Foundation,
Thank you for the great food and the good evening. We enjoyed how there was a different variety of money from different nations plastered on the floor. We also enjoyed the tour and how the building showed pictures of different parts of the world. Finally, we enjoyed how your movie showed us all about Grand Circle Foundation.
Thank you again for all of your help for SquashBusters.
Sincerely,
Bryante T., Jizari J. & Emmanuel M.
