When I was asked to be featured in a book about inspirational women of Boston (a project dreamed up by father-daughter photographer duo Bill and Kerry Brett), my first reaction was, “What?” Why would they choose me? I don’t really think of who I am or what I do as extraordinary—it’s just, well, me.
Now that the book—Boston, Inspirational Women—is on shelves, I’ve had a chance to look through it and read about the other women who were involved—and it’s fascinating to see the different ways that each of us has chosen to live our lives and get involved in our community. The accomplishments of these women are simply awe-inspiring. I find myself imagining, "What would it be like if we all got together to tackle something really big?" It’s an amazing group, and I am honored to be a part of it.
I hope this book can serve as an inspiration to other women—and that in some small way, my work with Grand Circle Foundation can inspire someone else to give back to their community. Thanks to everyone involved with Boston, Inspirational Women for this wonderful opportunity.
