Sharing our goal of giving back globally
When Alan and I purchased Grand Circle in 1985, we wanted to create a company that changed people’s lives. I’m incredibly proud of this goal and truly believe that we’ve accomplished our task: Throughout our history, we’ve given back to the places where we travel, to the people who live there, and to the city of Boston and communities around the world where we live and work.
And it seems that our social responsibility at Grand Circle has not gone unnoticed. In April, we hosted a delegation of twelve chief executive officers, human resource managers, and marketing directors from small to medium-size companies from Ireland in Harriet’s Corner in Boston. These delegates were visiting the United States as part of the Irish Institute of the Center for Irish Programs at Boston College. During their stay, they met with experts and university faculty, in addition to site visits with industry and sector leaders—and their visit to Harriet’s Corner helped them learn more about Grand Circle’s social entrepreneurship model.
Alan and Grand Circle’s Director of Public Relations, Priscilla O’Reilly, welcomed the delegates and explained a little bit more about how we accomplish our social responsibility goals with support from our travelers and our associates in Boston and worldwide.
